Ratatouille!!!

September 17th, 2007 by SkyFish

ratatouille-poster.jpg

After dunno how many weeks later… I finally watched Ratatouille!!! Seems like most will have difficulties pronouncing the movie name at first. However, I’m surprised that the girl who sold me the tickets read its Ra-Ta-Too-li. -_-”’

Anyway, I really love this movie! It’s just so fun to watch! So colorful…so funny… the rat is so cute! Loads of good food that makes you hungry… yum~! Some scenes actually looks damn real. Paris looks so pretty… Make me feels like going there again…

The storyline is really simple, yet… it’s touching. But I don’t really like the rat’s nose. I find it… a bit geli… I dunno why. hahaha… Lots of detail to watch out for when you’re in the Rat’s kingdom. Like the little cups they used to drink. Another really nice Pixar movie!

Go watch it! Definitely worth your ticket! It’s still not too late to watch now if you haven’t! :p

Switched ‘chap fan’…

September 11th, 2007 by SkyFish

I was lazy to go out for lunch so I tapao mixed rice from the food court with my colleague. Usually when I tapao mixed rice, I will go for very little rice and usually 3 vegies. So I did the same today and my meal cost only RM 3.

However… When I got back to office and wants to start eating… I got a surprise opening my box of mixed rice. I see no 3 vegies, instead, I saw a drumstick, kangkung and some dried bean curd with NO rice! This is really funny… coz the person actually packed my mixed rice gave it to someone else and I took someone else box!

I pity whoever that got my box. Especially if whoever is a big eater… there’s very little rice and all vegies… I don’t think will make them full and cost only RM 3. I think the drumstick box is more expensive. haha… Luckily my box tasted quite nice.

I bet the person who got my box is cursing all the way…. but seriously… it’s not my fault coz the person who collects money will take a look at the box and tell me the price, then pass the box to his helper. And she will put it into plastic bag together with plastic fork and spoon. I will just take whatever she gives me. So… hahaa… I think I gotta be more careful with my mixed rice next time. :P

Shopaholic & baby

September 5th, 2007 by SkyFish

I know…the blog has been dead for a veeeerrrry looong timeeeee. Was really busy at work past few weeks. And were doing migration of server for the blog. During merdeka, I went back to my grandma house at Kluang and became mosquito food. Like usual, there’s really nothing much to do at my grandma house other than eat and sleep. Everytime I go there I will bring some books to read and yes! I manage to finish the book I’ve been trying to finish since a looong time ago.

Got this book as my birthday present. Means… I  have been trying to read the book since 1 May. HAHAAHA…. Never really got the time to finish it. Since I finish it… I’ll just do a very very short review here…

shopaholic.jpg

For those who has been reading Sophie Kinsella books and have been following the Shopaholic series. I’m quite sure all of you will like this book. Or at least I like the book. I really prefer this book compared to her previous - Shopaholic & Sister which I too took a long time to read but that’s coz I find it quite boring.

As for this book, the reason I took so long was coz I spent most of my night online. Otherwise, for people like Xell, I think you can finish the book in one night lar. It’s very easy to read, story proceed quite well. And suddenly I wish I am Becky Bloomwood! hahaha… Lucky Lucky girl…

That’s all for now. haha.. I will be good and faster edit pics for Xell to post. :p

London Day 1 Part 3: Dinner @ Pizzeria, Clapham South

August 7th, 2007 by SkyFish

After a tiring day of shopping while the rest went sight seeing, we met back at hotel to meet up Deb’s friend for dinner. I was back early from shopping and was waiting for the other 3 woman to be back. Seriously, first day of shopping in London can die. So happen it was bank holiday, and I don’t have that much stamina to walk so long and so far “yet”, my leg felt like breaking!!!

cimg1760.JPG

A very blur picture of the place. hahaha… I lazy to retake.

Anyway, the place where Deb’s friend suggested is located at Clapham South. If you look at the tube map, it’s on the South of Northern Line. Once you’re out from the station, cross the road and walk towards the left side, you should see many restaurants located on your right hand side…and… ta-da, Pizzeria is right there. Hard to miss it, the place is packed coz pizza and pasta are all at half price!

cimg1754.JPG

We sat next to the chef’s place which is right at the end, in the corner of the restaurant.

If you are not afraid of cold, and drink lots of beer, you can always sit outside the restaurant. We waited so darn long for our seat coz we don’t want to sit outside. Freezing cold man!

cimg1753.JPG

This is one of the chef, I think his job is making pizza… I think he’s afraid one of those plates hanging on the wall will fall and hit him. hahaha….

cimg1746.JPG

We sat next to the cupboard where they store Chianti wine and wine glasses.

cimg1752.JPG

The deco on the walls are all sorts of plates!

Now to the food. It’s Italian restaurant, of course it’s pizza or pasta! I ordered myself a bottle of Italian beer. Nice…

cimg1755.JPG

Peroni, nice Italian beer…

cimg1758.JPG

Honestly, I can’t remember what pizza is this but it’s good. hahaha… The pizzas are huge! I can never finish one pizza on my own. Can die! So the 4 of us share 2 pizzas and 1 pasta. Deb’s friend can finish one plate of pasta on her own!

cimg1757.JPG

This I think is Fussili Prosciutto. I think… hahah…. Taste like Carbonara. I think we ordered Carbonara… just that, maybe they have another name to it. hahaha… but it’s good! Very creamy, lots of hams and mushrooms in it. I just thought its a bit salty though.

cimg1756.JPG

I remember the name of this pizza! It’s called Napoletana. (no, I lied, I don’t remember, I was looking at the receipt) If you go Italian restaurant often enough, you will notice that if their pizza sounds something like Napolian, it usually contains anchovies. When a pizza has anchovies as main toppings, it also means that the pizza is very salty. So yes, this is on heck of a salty pizza. But it’s very nice. I have my beer so the saltiness is fine. kakaka…

cimg1759.JPG

The bill… It’s cheap. Everything’s half price. one pizza for 4+ pounds. So huge… well worth the money. No wonder it’s so pack! If you’re in London, looking for some cheap Italian food, go there. The food’s good, service not bad, cheap… downside? The place is pack! I dunno if they have half price on Weekday or not though coz we were there on a weekend.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows… it has finally come to an end…

July 25th, 2007 by xell

“I FINALLY FINISHED THE GOD DAMN BLOODY BOOK”I came bursting out from my room on Sunday night, screaming as my family members just gave me one look and resumed back to what they were doing.

Anyway, the Harry Potter series has finally come to an end when the final book was released to the public on Saturday, 21st July 2007. When I first heard the title, I went “Harry Potter and what-the Hollows?” But anyway, the explanation of the title would definitely be explained in the book. So, don’t fret bout the weirdness of the title…

And when I thought the frenzy over the release of the final book only applies to children and teenagers, how wrong I was… my colleagues actually left for KLCC at 3am just to be the first few honoured people to purchase the book! Around 7.45 am, I heard Mandy Moore singing “Only Hope”, and I was like… what the… answered my mobile to hear Bee screaming at me that she got her book already… Thank goodness I’m those people who can easily drop back dead on the bed after being woken up by crazy friends at unearthly hours… Anyway, based on her description of the crowd going crazy the moment they open the doors of KLCC, I was imagining a scene from New Radical’s MTV “You get what you give”.

While my colleagues happily got their books first thing in the morning, I was reassured many times by 1U’s MPH that there was no such thing as “first five people get something” promo. And so I was not bothered to portray my competitiveness by camping out at 1U like them. I pre-ordered my copy from MPH while my colleagues pre-ordered theirs from Kinokuniya instead, and so we were on separate arenas. Anyway, I only went to get my book around 1pm coz I bought tickets for the 5th HP movie for 2.30pm (now this was where I showed my competitiveness by buying the tickets one week earlier online) and forced my bro to go along. He was actually quite reluctant to watch the movie coz his friends didn’t like it and one actually felt like puking (seriously, I will laugh at the person if I know who it was but I don’t think my bro would want me to torture his friends anymore) and even my hair stylist advised ah ya not to watch it. But anyway, I have digress again…

dsc00351.jpg

All my Hide plushies were delighted to finally get their hands on the final HP book

dsc00353.jpg

Which comes with a Harry Potter mug (Kakkoii Hide really fit just nicely in the mug…)

dsc00354.jpg

and all packaged together into a cool looking Harry Potter paper bag (my Banzai Hide really enjoying himself with the paper bag…)

dsc00355.jpg

Everyone waiting for me to read the book….

dsc00358.jpg

Uwaahh, my Hide plushies can really pose well, just like their owner! Muahahaha

Back to the book, I actually ended up multiple paper cuts all over my right thumb and now it’s heavily bandaged with a super thick plaster coz I left my cute plasters in the office… At least I have prove to show how intense I was with the book… but lucky I didn’t leave a trail of blood all over the pages… hahaha I didn’t even realised my thumb was cut until I went to sleep and was wondering why the hell my thumb was itching…

Well, my comment on the book… it was depressing for me… even ah ya got depress reading the first chapter that she couldn’t take it. I had to end up narrating the whole story to her instead. And also to the rest of siblings coz my elder sis always start reading a book by starting from the last page while my bro don’t read at all except for comics…

And I can’t believe only me and Deb are the only one among our colleagues who have finished the book! Goodness, I purposely rushed to complete it so that they won’t ruin the story for me when I get back to work on Monday! At least I’m a kind person who doesn’t like to ruin other people’s suspense… unless they asked me to tell them what happen…

dsc00360.jpg

My whole collection of Harry Potter books, and I just realised I’m missing the second book (my Shigure plushies wanted to join in with the posing too…)

dsc00361.jpg

Comparison of the book and movie… I still prefer the book…
