London Day 1 Part 3: Dinner @ Pizzeria, Clapham South
After a tiring day of shopping while the rest went sight seeing, we met back at hotel to meet up Deb’s friend for dinner. I was back early from shopping and was waiting for the other 3 woman to be back. Seriously, first day of shopping in London can die. So happen it was bank holiday, and I don’t have that much stamina to walk so long and so far “yet”, my leg felt like breaking!!!
A very blur picture of the place. hahaha… I lazy to retake.
Anyway, the place where Deb’s friend suggested is located at Clapham South. If you look at the tube map, it’s on the South of Northern Line. Once you’re out from the station, cross the road and walk towards the left side, you should see many restaurants located on your right hand side…and… ta-da, Pizzeria is right there. Hard to miss it, the place is packed coz pizza and pasta are all at half price!
We sat next to the chef’s place which is right at the end, in the corner of the restaurant.
If you are not afraid of cold, and drink lots of beer, you can always sit outside the restaurant. We waited so darn long for our seat coz we don’t want to sit outside. Freezing cold man!
This is one of the chef, I think his job is making pizza… I think he’s afraid one of those plates hanging on the wall will fall and hit him. hahaha….
We sat next to the cupboard where they store Chianti wine and wine glasses.
The deco on the walls are all sorts of plates!
Now to the food. It’s Italian restaurant, of course it’s pizza or pasta! I ordered myself a bottle of Italian beer. Nice…
Peroni, nice Italian beer…
Honestly, I can’t remember what pizza is this but it’s good. hahaha… The pizzas are huge! I can never finish one pizza on my own. Can die! So the 4 of us share 2 pizzas and 1 pasta. Deb’s friend can finish one plate of pasta on her own!
This I think is Fussili Prosciutto. I think… hahah…. Taste like Carbonara. I think we ordered Carbonara… just that, maybe they have another name to it. hahaha… but it’s good! Very creamy, lots of hams and mushrooms in it. I just thought its a bit salty though.
I remember the name of this pizza! It’s called Napoletana. (no, I lied, I don’t remember, I was looking at the receipt) If you go Italian restaurant often enough, you will notice that if their pizza sounds something like Napolian, it usually contains anchovies. When a pizza has anchovies as main toppings, it also means that the pizza is very salty. So yes, this is on heck of a salty pizza. But it’s very nice. I have my beer so the saltiness is fine. kakaka…
The bill… It’s cheap. Everything’s half price. one pizza for 4+ pounds. So huge… well worth the money. No wonder it’s so pack! If you’re in London, looking for some cheap Italian food, go there. The food’s good, service not bad, cheap… downside? The place is pack! I dunno if they have half price on Weekday or not though coz we were there on a weekend.
