London Pre-Day 1: Tourist from hell… the beginning

Dawn was approaching… the sun has not risen yet… and we were expecting our cab to come within an hour (yeah I need more than an hour to get ready) and guess what? The cab meant to take us to the airport broke down, so there goes our transportation to the airport! What a great way to start our trip.

It was the 4th of May (yeah yeah, that is like almost 2 months ago) and me, skyfish, ah ya and Deb (my colleague) is heading on our most (so far) unforgettable experience of our lifetime. Anyway, we still made it to the airport in time, in fact even earlier than Deb, thanks to my bro’s crazy driving. And the shock on our faces when we saw Deb lugging in her luggage, it was twice the size of my own bag!!! Our flight was in the afternoon since it was only flight available during the MAS Travel Fair. And our tickets were pretty reasonable, costing RM2,973 for 2 way (actually it only cost RM999 for the plane ticket alone, the rest were charges for fuel and airport tax! No wonder MAS is making profits now…)

I managed to survive the 13 hours flight without screaming and killing Deb, who the poor thing had to sit next to me coz ah ya and skyfish refused to… but then we sat next to this man who ignored us during most of the flight. He kept his eyes closed as often as possible. I think he heard me whispering (when I whisper, everyone can still hear me) to Deb that the moment he open his eyes, ask him to let us through so we can go out. And once I caught him opening his eyes, and I quickly nudged Deb but then he was even faster, he just shut his eyes and pretended to sleep! How evil!

Anyway, me and Deb were pretty gung-ho during the entire flight, I didn’t sleep at all while she slept for a while. She said she was able to sleep coz that was the time she’s normally sleeping in the train on her way back to Seremban… And I had fun taking shots of cotton candy clouds and the landscape below.

Compared to my trip to China, my seating was more spacious and I didn’t feel smothered, which would have ended up me screaming for air… and I watched Painted Veil, Because I Said So and bits of other movies.

And since I’m one of the rare people who like airplane food, it’s not fair for me to review our meal during the flight… hehehe… I’ll just say that it was edible!
